[Visual Dev] Character Design for Druid
Hi everyone! Hanin here, back with another illustration breakdown. This one is pretty fast!
The Circle of Bone Druid uses fossils and bones as their connection to nature.
For this, we looked at not just how characters in other media use bones as armour such as Monster Hunter or Cubone in Pokemon, but also carcinisation (become crab), shells, and amber. What was important was that we wanted to incorporate a variety of different fossils into the design.
This was pretty straight forward, but what was important for me was to make sure the armour all made sense. If the druid uses a turtle shell as their body, how do they move? For the amber on their staff, how is it fixed onto it? And how would you dig up more bones and traverse a terrain with just bones and string? I think I was able to answer all the questions adequately.
